Scarlet Letter is the CSMC members newsletter and has been published since 1973. Currently, it is published and distributed twice a year, usually in Spring and Autumn.
"...the name 'Scarlet Letter' comes from a marvelous story written by Nathaniel Hawthorne about a women called Hester who lived in a puritan colony in America and who was jailed because she had a child and upon her release forced to wear a letter 'A'
(for adultery) embroidered on her bosom.
Hester was so brave, noble and constantly helpful and possessed such self-respect that her fellow colonists grew to love and depend on her, and the scarlet lettter became a symbol of 'awe' and 'reverence'."
