Unpaid Workers

CSMC offers a range of volunteer opportunities and the involvement of unpaid workers allows us to achieve a lot more than would be otherwise possible. Some of the main areas that we are currently seeking involvement are listed below:

Management Collective – CSMC is managed by a group of single mothers who oversee the strategic direction and ensure that CSMC meets the needs of its members and its legal obligations. Meetings are held monthly.

Scarlet Letter Committee – The CSMC newsletter is produced twice a year by a committee of single mothers. Involvement could include planning and editorial, writing articles or helping with mail outs.

CSMC Action Group – This group is involved in organizing campaigns around issues of importance to single mothers. If you are interested in working for social change, this could be the group for you.

Christmas Toys Distribution – Each year CSMC has been able to distribute toys to members in the lead up to Christmas. We are always in great need of people to help with this program – from providing overall coordination to sorting and packing toys.

Administrative Support – We always welcome assistance with jobs such as filing, photocopying and mail outs.
