Together we can be the support single mothers deserve
Stand withsingle mothers
Every year, Council of Single Mothers and their Children (CSMC) must expand our supports for single mother families as their lives become more complex and precarious. The extended cost-of-living and housing affordability crises are deeply impacting many single mothers’ ability to provide enough food, school supplies, secure housing, and heating in winter. Families who have not reached out to services before are turning to CSMC for help, as wages are no longer a guarantee that a single mother can provide her children with essentials. And we continue to work to inform more families about CSMC so they can call on our vital specialist support.
Whydonate
We provide telephone, email and online support, information and resources to single mothers, and advocate for their rights in housing, income security, affordable childcare, family law, employment, and respectful treatment from government agencies.
Your donation will help ensure our critical services are able to meet emerging demands.
Together we can support single mums to provide the best life possible for their children.
How your donation willmake a difference

Aisha'sstory
Refusing to give up, Aisha proactively took steps to regain stability. She searched for a more affordable rental and was eventually approved for a new property – but the first month’s rent was beyond Aisha’s capacity to cover on her own. That’s when Aisha contacted CSMC. We were able to contribute half the required amount, which enabled Aisha and her kids to move into their new home. We also provided Aisha with referrals and information to support her family to rebuild a safe life and continue to recover from family violence.
